The answer

Texts have consistently stated that the sun will rise from the west as one of the signs of the Hour, and at that time, the door of repentance will be closed, and faith will not benefit those who had not believed before or had not acquired good deeds. There is no need to exert effort in researching how this will happen, or whether it will occur for the entire Earth at once or gradually, as knowledge of this is from the unseen about which revelation has not informed us. All we have to do is believe and submit to what is stated in the texts. If this occurs in a specific region, the door of repentance will be closed for its people, and this will not apply to others until the sign occurs for them. The proof for this is the hadith narrated by Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until the sun rises from the west. When it rises and the people see it, they will all believe, but that is when faith will not benefit a soul that had not believed before or had not earned good through its faith."
