What does a person gain from forgiving oppressors and those who insult them in this world, and do they earn good deeds from that, or is it better to wait until the Day of Judgment to take their due from the oppressors' good deeds?

Forgiving wrongdoers earns a Muslim a great reward, as Allah Almighty says: "So whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is due from Allah," and Allah Almighty says: "But whoever patiently endures and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination," and Allah Almighty says: "and those who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good." Forgiveness also increases a servant's honor and tranquility in this world, as stated in the noble Hadith: "And Allah does not increase a servant by pardoning except in honor." Furthermore, forgiveness is a cause for Allah Almighty's forgiveness, as He says: "And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you?"
