What qualified Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) for the great status he attained in Islam? And what was the reason for his immediate belief in the Prophet (peace be upon him) upon his call, even before most of the Holy Qur’an was revealed? Was it due to his sound nature and readiness for monotheism, or due to his intimate knowledge of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) noble character?

Abu Bakr was named "Al-Siddiq" (The Truthful) because of his unwavering belief in the news from Allah and His Messenger, especially concerning the Isra and Mi'raj (Night Journey and Ascension). This stems from the faith that was firmly embedded in his heart. In this sense, the virtue lies in beneficial knowledge that leads to knowing Allah, fearing Him, and loving Him. Fatimah bint Abd al-Malik was asked about the actions of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, and she replied: "I have not seen anyone more fearful of Allah than him." Thus, virtue is not in the abundance of prayer and fasting, but rather in the sincerity of intention, the generosity of souls, the soundness of hearts, offering sincere advice to the Ummah, and in knowing Allah and fearing Him.
