Is our Hajj valid and accepted after we fasted in lieu of the Hady due to our money being stolen, and then spent the equivalent value of the Hady on gifts after Arafah?

For the pilgrim performing Tamattu' or Qiran, the offering (hady) is obligatory. If he does not find an offering, he must fast ten days (three during the Hajj and seven upon returning to his homeland).

If the money is sufficient to purchase the offering and cover basic expenses, the offering takes precedence over gifts, and fasting is not sufficient. However, if it is highly probable that the money will not suffice for the offering and expenses, then fasting is sufficient.

If the offering is found after commencing the fast, the Shafi'i school of thought does not obligate him to provide the offering, though it is recommended. But if the offering is found before commencing the fast, then the offering becomes obligatory for him.
