What is God's honoring of humanity through divine entrustment (taklīf)? And what are the references that can be consulted regarding this matter?
Divine obligation (taklif) is a manifestation of Allah's honoring of humanity. Allah created livestock and fruits and subjected them to humans, made humanity His vicegerent on Earth, entrusted them with the trust, and made the purpose of their existence the worship of Allah, as is clear in His saying, "And the livestock, He created them for you; in them is warmth and [other] uses, and from them you eat" [An-Nahl: 5], and His saying, "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me" [Adh-Dhariyat: 56]. The deeds and obligations that Allah specifically assigned to humanity, such as Hajj, charity (infaq), fasting, and prayer, indicate their high status with Allah, His trust in them, and His honoring of them, in addition to honoring them in the Hereafter with an eternal life of bliss.
