Is it permissible to eat or drink food or beverages into which dead or living insects have fallen, or must they be removed before consumption?

The Shari'ah has forbidden impure things, and insects are among them. During the time of revelation, the Arabs considered insects to be impure. The majority of scholars are of the opinion that eating them is forbidden, though the Malikis considered them either disliked or forbidden.

If separating insects from food is possible without difficulty, then they must be removed. However, if the insects are few and small, and it is difficult to trace them, then they are excused due to the removal of hardship and difficulty in Islamic law.
