The answer

A woman's staying in her home is better than her going out to earn a living without need. However, her going out to earn a living is not forbidden by Sharia if the proper etiquettes are observed, and it may be better if there is a considerable benefit in it. She is not permitted to go out to work without her husband's permission, unless this was stipulated in the marriage contract. If it was stipulated and the husband accepted, he may still ask her to leave it for the benefit of the family. If a man does not want his wife to work, he must make that clear, and if they do not agree, he has the right to annul the engagement for the sake of benefit.
