Is it true that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wished to be buried with his companions in Uhud?

It has been reported what conveys this meaning. Ahmad and Al-Hakim narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said about the companions of Uhud: "By Allah, I wish I had been left among the companions of the mountain pass," meaning, "I wish I had been martyred with them." Similar to this is what Malik narrated in Al-Muwatta from Yahya ibn Sa'id that a man said at a grave being dug: "What a bad resting place for a believer!" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied to him, saying: "How bad what you said!" When the man clarified that he meant being killed in the way of Allah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There is nothing like being killed in the way of Allah. There is no spot on earth that I would prefer my grave to be in more than it." The jurists have explicitly stated the desirability of seeking burial in places where righteous people and martyrs are abundant.
