Is it permissible to pray Jumu'ah in military camps near the borders?

For the validity of the Friday prayer, it is a condition that it be performed in a built village or city. It is not valid in other places where people gather in the desert. It is valid to establish it in army camps if they are built and are a place of residence. The conditions for the place where the Friday prayer is performed vary among jurists: The Hanafis stipulate that it must be in a misr (a town where there is a ruler or his deputy), while the Shafi'is suffice with the condition that it be established in an area of buildings. The Malikis require it to be established in a place suitable for settlement, whereas the Hanbalis do not stipulate any of that, and it is valid according to them in deserts and among tents.

The most preponderant opinion is that the Friday prayer is valid in every place where people gather, whether it is a city or a village, and the misr is not a condition. Al-Bukhari titled a chapter "Chapter on Friday Prayer in Villages and Cities" and mentioned the hadith of Ibn Abbas that the first Friday prayer after the Prophet's mosque (peace be upon him) was gathered in the mosque of Abd al-Qays in Juwatha, Bahrain, which indicates its permissibility in villages. Furthermore, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote: "Perform the Friday prayer wherever you are," and this includes cities and villages. Al-Bayhaqi also indicated that the sayings and actions of the Salaf suggest the establishment of Friday prayer in villages whose inhabitants are settled residents.
