What is the ruling on eating the meat of the wabar, which is a mountain herbivorous animal known as the wabar?

The rock hyrax is a small animal that is permissible to eat, due to the generality of Allah's Almighty saying: (Say, "I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to eat except that it be carrion or spilled blood or the flesh of swine — for indeed, that is impure — or a sinful offering over which a name other than Allah’s has been invoked.") And due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "What Allah has made lawful in His Book is lawful, and what He has made unlawful is unlawful, and what He has remained silent about is a concession."
