How should one deal with a nervous wife who verbally or physically harms her husband then regrets it, claiming to be possessed by Jinn, and do Jinn or sorcery have an effect on a person, and how can it be nullified according to Islamic Sharia?

Marital life between a man and a woman should not escalate to the point of screaming and physical assault, especially from the wife towards her husband. Rather, this is forbidden as it contradicts living together in kindness (ma'ruf) and obedience. The causes of such behavior, like anger, should be avoided, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) advised against anger, for it gathers all evil. Since the wife claims to be mentally ill or afflicted by jinn possession, this should be taken into consideration, as she might be telling the truth, because her actions are out of the ordinary. She might be enchanted by magic or possessed by jinn, and there are specific symptoms and a legitimate Islamic cure for that. It is advised to take her to some trustworthy and upright shuyukh for ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) if she exhibits symptoms of magic or jinn possession, or to a psychiatrist to treat her for this unstable state of mind.
