Does a man slapping and insulting a woman after completing the Hajj rituals and before the Farewell circumambulation—as a result of the woman assaulting him and his family—affect his Hajj? Does it entail blood money or anything other than repentance and seeking forgiveness?

It would have been better for your colleague to suppress his anger and forgive the woman who assaulted him and his family, for Allah Almighty says: "and those who restrain anger and pardon people—and Allah loves the doers of good" (Quran 3:134). And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah does not increase a servant in anything by forgiveness except honor." He should also have sought forgiveness and pardon from the woman for what he did, and he must repent and seek Allah's forgiveness. His Hajj is valid, but the punishment for a sin committed in the Haram is magnified. He should be advised to exercise forbearance and repel anger, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not get angry."
