Is it permissible to install an artificial eye if the original eye is red and vision is not possible through it?

This issue falls under the general ruling for cosmetic surgeries: those performed for the sake of seeking beauty and enhancing attractiveness are forbidden, while those performed as a treatment for a defect or to remove harm are permissible. If the eye cannot be treated, is disfiguring, and causes harm, then there is no objection to implanting an artificial eye in its place. It is religiously permissible to perform necessary and essential cosmetic surgery aimed at removing a deformity that causes psychological or physical harm, as stated in the resolution of the Islamic Fiqh Academy.
