What is the ruling of the Sharia on a husband who constantly curses religion? And how can he be helped to stop this act?

The scholars have agreed that reviling Allah or the religion constitutes apostasy if the reviler is conscious and acting by choice, whether angry or pleased, serious or joking. Allah the Almighty says: "Say: 'Was it at Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?' Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief."

If the reviler repents with sincere repentance, their repentance is accepted.

Apostasy results in the annulment of the marriage, and the woman becomes a stranger to her apostate husband. If he repents and returns to Islam before the expiry of the waiting period ('iddah), scholars have differed as to whether the wife returns to him with the original contract or if a new contract is necessary.

As for helping the husband to abstain from reviling the religion, it is an obligation. If separation occurs between the spouses, it should be mediated by her mahrams or his mahrams.

It would have been incumbent upon the wife to strive to cooperate with her husband in upholding righteousness and learning matters of creed, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, praised the believing wife who assists her husband in matters of the afterlife.
