Does hanging perfume or adornments on a car's rearview mirror constitute a form of polytheism (shirk)?

"The prohibition against hanging amulets, tiwalah (charms causing love or hate), and incantations has been reported. Whoever believes that they cause benefit or harm, instead of Allah, has committed major shirk (polytheism). Whoever believes that they are a means of protection from the evil eye or jinn has committed minor shirk. The incantations mentioned in the hadith are those that involve shirk. As for incantations from the Qur'an and Allah's names, the majority of scholars hold that it is not permissible to hang them if the intention is to derive benefit or ward off harm. However, hanging decorations or perfumes is permissible and does not fall under this category, because their purpose is not to derive benefit or ward off harm, but rather for beauty or to scent a place."
