So the Messenger said: "My God, I do not ask You for Aminah who gave birth to me, nor Halimah who nursed me, nor Fatimah my daughter, but rather I ask You for my Ummah." So it was said to him: "O Prophet of Mercy, how compassionate you are towards this Ummah! Your Ummah is a weak creation, and I am a Gentle Lord, and you are a noble Prophet. The weak will not be lost between the Gentle and the Noble. So by My might and glory, I will divide the Day of Resurrection between Us into two halves: you will say: 'My Ummah! My Ummah!' and I will say: 'My Mercy! My Mercy!'"?
How can one reconcile the divine command to convey the message in the verse: (O Messenger! Proclaim that which has been sent down to you from your Lord; and if you do not do so, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people.
